Twentieth century American literature, especially poetry.  Jewish and Holocaust Studies and Creative Writing.

  • Edited two books, The Americanization of the Holocaust and Jewish American Literature: A Norton Anthology
  • Articles on American Poetry have appeared in many journals including ELH, the New England Quarterly, and MELUS have been reprinted in Contemporary Literary Criticism.
  • Articles on Jewish Studies have appeared in Genocide Studies, the Yale Journal of Criticism, and the Massachusetts Review
  • Published her own poetry in Ploughshares, Tikkun, and the Seattle Review.

Specializes in twentieth century American literature, especially poetry, and also works in ethnic studies and Holocaust literature. has been a fellow at the US Holocaust Museum and Memorial. Flanzbaum is also the Director of Creative Writing.
