    Professional Experience
My research interests have been in Parasitology and Immunotoxicology. My doctoral dissertation examined the effects of fumonisin mycotoxins on immune responses to Trypanosoma cruzi (the causative agent of Chagas' disease). I am currently interested in pedogogical research in biology and have been a participant in the FIRST II (http://www.first2.org/) program funded by the National Science Foundation. My main focus is to continue to incorporate more discovery-based learning into our curriculum, beginning with our introductory courses.
